The 3rd Annual RAINN Benefit was held Friday November 21st 2003 (a belated part of nationwide birthday celebrations) in the Vortex at Coyotes in Port Charlotte..this year we raised $1728.54... the band line up was Ekotren,1925, Carnival of Soul, Ten Times Over , Pushmower and Pariah...all great local talent that donated their time and artistry to Rock the house for RAINN...with the support and organization of Greg from Pushmower and the owners of Coyotes/Vortex and 99 X out of Fort Myers we had the largest turn out as far as quantity of people goes........admission stayed at 5.00 at the door....and all proceeds went to RAINN..while we did not raise as much money as last year (due to half the cover charge ) having that many people come out to support local live music and raise awareness for RAINN made me very happy....Once again I gave away TATTOO Certificates AGAIN THIS YEAR>>>> 5 separate one hour certificates (approx value 500.00) ..as well as piercings and other items...we hope to see you in 2004 for ROCK FOR RAINN 4...I went from over planning and underpromoting to over promoting and underplanning ...what do they say forth ones a charm :-) ...we shall see!!!!! Sunday August 25th, 2002 at
Club Neptunes...Fort Myers , Florida. This event was a collection of local original talent, similar to the event held last in 2001. The 2002 2nd annual benefit location moved to Fort Myers...Welcoming back to the RAINN stage...Pushmower , 1925, SlickRiddle and Code*Sunshine and welcoming into to the RAINN benefit Stoned Oatmeal, Trip2Go, ColdStatic, Shinebox, Mr. Bella, November Fox Trot Whiskey,Burn Theory, Megalablatta and Ekotren ... drawings were held for over five thosand dollars in prizes including a Pain for RAINN raffle with $1500.00 in tattoos($500.00 by Lisa) and piercings up for grabs..The event was recorded and mixed for a live compilation CD available for purchase at $ 10.00 available online at www.rockforrainn.com..upon completion of the pressing.... in total we have generated $2,528.22 just shy of last years totals ...
On August 24,2001, the 1st annual RAINN benefit was held at (what was formerly known as) Area 51 in Port Charlotte, Florida...to raise money and awareness for RAINN, a non-profit organization, based in Washington DC that operates the only national hotline for victims of sexual assault, founded on July 26, 1995 , 1-800-656-HOPE ,provides callers free, confidential counseling and support , in total we raised $2,731.68......thank you for your support...
